The 6.5x52mm Carcano is a classic Italian military cartridge, and finding quality ammo for it can be a challenge — which is exactly why collectors and Carcano rifle owners come to us. Gunners Outlet specializes in surplus and antique calibers that big retailers overlook, and Prvi Partizan (PPU) still produces correct-spec 6.5 Carcano ammo with the proper .268 bullet diameter. Whether you're feeding an original Model 91 or building your milsurp collection, we carry the loads you need, shipped fast from New Hampshire.
Dating to 1891, the 6.5x52mm Carcano served the Italian military through both World Wars. Its defining feature is bullet diameter: genuine Carcano bores use a .268" bullet, not the .264" used by most other 6.5mm cartridges — so using correct ammunition matters for accuracy and safety.
Because it's an antique military caliber, factory production is limited. Prvi Partizan (PPU) is one of the few makers still loading correct-diameter 6.5 Carcano, typically in 139–160 grain soft point and FMJ. These loads suit range shooting, collecting, and light hunting where legal.
If you own a Carcano and have struggled to find ammo elsewhere, this is our specialty. We keep milsurp calibers like 6.5 Carcano, 7.62x54R, and .303 British in stock — the rounds that keep classic rifles shooting.

Frequently Asked Questions
What bullet diameter does 6.5 Carcano use?
Genuine Carcano rifles use a .268-inch bullet, which is wider than the .264-inch used by most other 6.5mm cartridges. Using correct-diameter ammunition such as Prvi Partizan's is important for both accuracy and safety, since undersized bullets can key-hole or shoot poorly.
Who makes 6.5 Carcano ammo?
Prvi Partizan (PPU) is the primary current producer of correct-spec 6.5x52 Carcano ammunition. Some surplus ammo also exists, but it can be corrosive and inconsistent, which is why fresh PPU production is the preferred choice for most shooters.
Is 6.5 Carcano ammo hard to find?
Yes — 6.5 Carcano is an antique military caliber with limited production, so it's often out of stock at large retailers. We make a point of stocking it; check the in-stock filter above to see current availability.
